Athens County Child Support Enforcement Agency to no longer accept payments at its office

Due to budget cuts that have forced staff reductions, the Athens County Child Support Enforcement Agency will no longer be able to accept cash payments or any other payments for child support or spousal support at its office beginning on Sept. 1, 2011.

The agency is providing several payment options for area residents who previously paid at the Athens County Job and Family Services County Home Building.

The options include:

• Payments by mail. Payments can be made in the form of a personal check, money order or cashier’s check. All checks should be made payable to Ohio CSPC and should be mailed to Ohio CSPC, PO Box 182372, Columbus, OH 43218-2372. Personal checks of more than $20,000 cannot be accepted, but payments of that amount or higher can be made by certified check. Also, checks should not be sent to the Athens County Child Support Enforcement Agency.

• Payments by checking account debit cards. These payments can be made by logging onto www.ExpertPay.com. The website has a $2.50 registration fee, but there are no additional fees. Additional information can be found on the website.

• Payments by credit card. These payments can be made by logging onto www.e-ChildsPay.com. The website currently only accepts MasterCard, Visa and Discover cards. The processor charges a fee of $11.75 for all payments made on this site.

Individuals who choose to pay by check should include their names, Social Security numbers, SETS case numbers (the 10-digit number that begins with a 7), court order numbers and the amount that should be applied to each case (if the individual has more than one case).

For more information, call the Athens County Child Support Enforcement Agency at 593-5046 or stop into the County Home Building and ask to be seen as a walk-in appointment.
