Athens County residents can now access their child support cases online, 24 hours a day.
The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services has created a new web portal for child support cases so that families can access their case information without having to call or visit a local child support enforcement agency office.
The new website allows families to access recent payments, as well as the payment information for the previous two years. The website also provides a link to frequently asked questions about Ohio’s child support program. The topics covered include questions on how to establish paternity, how to establish a child support order and options for making and receiving payments.
The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services is also planning to make further additions to the website. Future enhancements on the website will provide a way for families to community directly with their local child support enforcement agency offices, options for applying for different services online, and an online request system for reviews and adjustments of child support orders.
The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services’ Office of Child Support collects and disburses nearly $2 billion each year to more than 1 million children. In Athens County, the child support enforcement agency collects and disburses more than $6 million in child support payments each year. The Athens County system provides support for an average of more than 5,500 children each month.
